The Fresno State men's basketball team played their final home game of the season Saturday night. New Mexico State beat the Bulldogs by five but there was a victory in the crowd.

A couple weeks ago, CBS47's Zara Arboleda introduced you to the Thompson family, who is just barely getting by and living in a Motel.

The story was titled, "One Step from the Streets" and showed 10-year-old Miracle Thompson crying about her poor living situation at the Fresno Inn.

Folks at Fresno State's athletics department saw the story and were inspired to make a difference. "If we can create some happiness for a family for one evening and have some fun, that's what we'd like to do."

The family got tickets to their first ever game, plus food and sports gear. 10-year-old Miracle also got to run out on the floor with the team before the game. The whole team huddled around Miracle as her name was announced as the "sixth man". Miracle said, "It's wonderful; I got to run out with the team."

Miracle's older sister, Chantell, couldn't believe the royal treatment. "It's like so cool, I feel like I'm famous," said Chantell.

Their mother, Valencia, was overwhelmed by the generosity of the university. "I was so touched. I was getting ready to cry. It's a lot for me to handle right now. Open my eyes a little bit more. Everybody's not a bad person. Everybody's got a good heart," said Valencia.
