NASA has chosen to put a science experiment built by students at Faith Christian High School in Coalinga aboard the International Space Station.
The small electronic device is designed to mix concrete in zero gravity.
Team Leader Clint Cowden said, "To me, the big thing is we brought a bunch of students together who had a very diverse background and we created something that most university students would just die to be able to do... it's phenomenal."
The experiment will be launched on Friday and will stay in space for about a month.
The findings of its voyage will be presented to Cal Poly.
