In the biggest game of his life, Pascoe scored his first-ever NFL touchdown. His parents, Julie and Sean Pascoe, were sitting in the top row of the stadium.
“We were up high enough so we could see it develop. Eli [Manning] went through his checkdowns; Bear was wide open underneath and he caught the pass. Eli found him and he caught the pass and stepped into the end zone. It was really, really exciting,” said Bear’s father, Sean.
The touchdown helped the Giants advance to the Super Bowl. Julie and Sean wouldn't miss it for anything. A world away from the NFL, the Pascoes live on a ranch near Terra Bella. Bear was raised on horses and hard work.
“We get up early every morning and we go to work,” said Julie.
“Everybody says if you're born into the Pascoe family, you're doomed to play football and rope,” said Sean.
Sean, who was a football player in college, says the discipline Bear learned on the ranch, translates to the field. It’s a fact that wasn't lost on
“Pat Hill made the comment to me at one time, he said, ‘Every farmer/ranch kid that I've had on this team has been a working son of a gun,’” said Sean.
After graduation, Pascoe was drafted by the 49ers, but was cut from the team a few short months later. He's been with the Giants for three seasons and is now preparing for the stuff kids dream of.
“Oh my gosh, to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl, that would be awesome,” said Sean.
Bear's real first name is McKenna. His mom gave him the nickname ‘Bear’ when he was a baby. He's one of four
