For the first time since 23-year-old Felipe Bravo was murdered, his father is speaking publicly.

Felipe Bravo Sr. says he’s completely destroyed.

Nearly a month after the Los Banos man was killed.  Investigators can offer few answers.

“He was found with a gunshot wound to the head and thats how he passed,” said Tom McKenzie with the Merced County Sheriff’s Department.

The victims sister says she's no longer working, instead spending her time trying to help solve her brothers murder.

“Instead of celebrating his birthday, we buried our brother the day before and it’s something that you just can’t explain,” said Flor Bravo, the victim’s sister.

Bravo was youngest of 9 siblings; he was a student at Merced Community College.  The last time he was seen he was supposed to meet friends on New Year’s Eve.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation.  Bravo was from Los Banos and he could have been killed in the area or in Monterey, his body was found on Portero Road in Moss Landing.  It could have even happened in Hollister.  Investigators say the motive is also a mystery.

“There’s nothing to indicate that Felipe was actually involved in any gang type of activity or anything illicit,” said McKenzie.

But Bravo’s family is convinced someone knows what happened.  So they’re offering a 5 thousand dollar reward...

His father begs anyone with information to understand his pain and come forward.

The Merced County Sheriff's department wants to remind people they can give anonymous tips (209) 385-7472 or Mercedsheriff.com.
