A tribute ride took place in Fresno to honor a longtime owner of a Fresno Harley Davidson dealership who passed away earlier this month.

Eva Matthews and her late husband founded the Matthews Harley Davidson in downtown Fresno back in the early fifties.

Eva Matthews died earlier this month at the age of 89. Her face was familiar to generations of local motorcyclists.

On Thursday, hundreds of riders left from Matthews Harley Davidson to the Lomac Winery in western Fresno County for a final tribute.

Melissa Walters, Eva's granddaughter, looked back on her life. "My grandmother devoted herself to Harley Davidson Motor Company for over 60 years and became a dealer in 1953 and poured her heart and soul into it with my grandpa by her side," said Melissa.

Eva Matthews passed on four years after her husband, Harold.
