A reptile thief is still on the run.
Caught on camera overnight breaking into Fresno's Discovery Center.
CBS 47 has the video that can help catch him.
The center on Winery Avenue, near McKinley and Chestnut in Fresno recently re-opened.
There's been plenty of police activity there.
CBS 47's Lemor Abrams is live inside the center.
He looked around for cameras, but the thief seems to have no idea that Fresno's Discovery Center has surveillance equipment everywhere.
“He came in across the grass---looked in the window, found the cinder block,” said Discovery Center Director Mary Ellen Wright.
Surveillance video shows him hurling a cinder block through the glass window, and making a bee-line for the reptile room.
He grabbed a Boa Constrictor and two Pythons, and tossed them...mortal enemies...into the same bag.
“It's a jungle environment in their tank and they were wrapped in trees,” she said.
He also yanked out a four foot lizard and stuffed it into a trash can.
Then pulls out a computer monitor from the desk and shoved it on top of the lizard.
“It was painful to watch as he pulled the animals out we were looking for blood,” said Wright.
The reptiles are all rescues.
Kids love to spend time with them after school, including 7-year old Lea Charriez.
But we didn't find her petting the animals.
We spotted her in a police car.
“They asked me to get in the car for a second ...and show them the house across from mine where he lives,” she said.
She recognized the burglar in the surveillance video. She says he plays football with neighborhood kids, just down the street from the Discovery Center.
Police staked out the spot early Thursday evening, after receiving reports that the thief was letting kids play with the reptiles.
They have some leads.
If you see the reptiles or have information on the suspect, call Fresno Police.
