According to family members who came to the scene, a woman was robbed and raped at Shabazz clothing store on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and California Tuesday morning. Lewis Carter spoke on behalf of his brother, who owns the store, saying he urges people to keep their eyes and ears open to find the people who did it.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the Fresno Police Department released few details about the crime because of the ongoing investigation. Police tape blocks the entrance into the store and the alley behind the building.
A woman who's mother works at an adjacent laundromat said she is scared to be in the area because of the crime.
Police did not release possible suspect information, but Carter said there were two masked men.
