Fresno police, Sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol officers spent several hours overnight searching for suspects from two different crimes.
There were reports of shots being fired around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning near 11th and Floridora.
A short time later a sheriff’s deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle and began to follow. The suspect crashed his truck into a fire hydrant at Maple and Weldon and the 3 people inside took off running.
Investigators are trying to determine if there is a connection between the two crime scenes. Sgt. Kathy Carreiro with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department said, “We don’t believe they are the suspects that were involved. We have done some coordinating with the Fresno Police Department and at this point, no we don’t believe they are actually involved.”
None of the suspects have been identified or located and there are no reports of injuries from the shooting.
