A wild visitor wandered into a neighborhood Monday evening.
Neighbors jumped from their dinner tables to catch the action.
CBS 47’s Lemor Abrams has the bizarre details.
Leaping over walls.
"It's right there now," hollered a wildlife officer.
And backing into a wall....its bright night-vision eyes...pointing at police, neighbors, and wildlife officers on standby.
“The last thing we want to do is chase it around,” hollered another wildlife officer.
Officers waited for the deer to calm down before tranquilizing it.
"Once we got him kind of positioned where he needed to be we loaded up a tranquilizer dart and shot him right here,” said Dan Fidler of the Dept. of Fish and Game.
The Department of Fish and Game drove the deer to a wildlife area. The nearest one- by the river.
Charles Stark’s son called for help.
“All he knew was that the deer was running-trying to get out of the way of everybody,” said Charles Stark.
A similar scenario happened the same time last year! Also- in a northwest
A viewer shot video of the deer running down
"I turned around and the deer was charging at me and i screamed and he went in the garage!" exclaimed Joanna Thompson back on
What are the odds... Stark's son was also startled.
“He came running in the house, ‘you won't believe this he said! I just saw a deer running down the street!’ “ exclaimed Stark.
He says it's a change from the friendly kitty-cat or decorative deer he sees around here, but maybe it's just that time of year.... for deer.
"It might be Santa Clause coming early,” joked Stark.
