Fresno police made a big bust Wednesday morning, which might help reduce the number of auto thefts and home burglaries in the city.
Officers with the department's Career Criminal Auto Theft Team wrapped up a week long operation on Terrace Avenue, near Maple and Clinton.
They served warrants at four locations and arrested a dozen people, and many of them are known gang members.
Sgt. Tim Tietjen with the Fresno Police Department said, "It's about money. They're out working together as crews to break into a car, steal the identity out of the vehicle, they're going to take of the component parts Off the vehicle."
Officers seized stolen cars and jewelry, six guns, and 100 pounds of marijuana, as well as personal information being used in an identity theft ring.
