Counting the hours until Election Day.  Polling stations open at 7am on Tuesday, but some people are voting early or turning in their absentee ballots at the Fresno County Elections Office.

While campaigners try to sway voters in the final hours before Election Day, Fresno County workers are already processing absentee ballots.  Of the nearly 400,000 registered voters, over half vote by mail

"We've issued 208,000 vote-by-mail ballots.  We have processed about 80,000 of those.  I just got a count that we have 24,000 in our hands that we have not been able to process.  We'll start that after Election Day," said Brandi Orth, Registrar of Voters in Fresno County.

Those going to the polls may see some lines.  Orth is predicting a 70% turnout.  Some who waited in line on Monday were first-time voters, excited about the election.

"This is really big and it's going to make a difference so I really wanted to get it done," said 21-year-old Victoria Estrada.

For those casting ballots Tuesday, there's a lot of information online about polling places, local races, propositions, and a new way to drop off absentee ballots without having to get out of your car.

"For those people who have voted their ballots and just want to drop them off, we have none voted-ballot locations throughout Fresno County.  We'll have one downtown here," said Orth.

The phone number to call if you have questions is 559-600-VOTE.  Click on the "related links" for more information.
