Police say there were no obvious signs that the man was shot, stabbed or beat up.
“He appears to be middle-aged in his 30's. He appeared to be a Hispanic male,” said Sgt. Carlos Frausto of the Fresno Police Dept.
Since this is a very busy intersection, police put up black screens for privacy reasons as detectives surveyed the situation.
“At this point, until we conduct further investigation to determine what caused his death, it's ruled to be due to suspicious nature,” said Sgt. Frausto.
Meaning the man could have died from suicide, a drug overdose, or even natural causes.
“It could be a ray of things, so until we can examine the body further, which we'll need to do with detectives and the assistance of the coroner's office,” said Sgt. Frausto.
The coroner has identified the man, but is not releasing his name until they notify his family. It will likely be made available to the public on Monday.
