Two people are under arrest after a toddler in their care swallowed methamphetamine.
It happened at a home in
Investigators uncovered what happened when the 2-year-old girl was taken to a hospital.
“The victim was suffering from high temperature, sweating profusely and having seizures, so the caregivers took the child to the hospital. Detectives from our violent crimes unit were called and during the investigation it was discovered that the victim had ingested methamphetamine,” said Sgt. Chris Douglass of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
We’re told the toddler was in good condition Friday night.
Her caregivers’ 21-year-old Jose Tapia and 23-year-old Janet Cerrito are now facing child endangerment charges.
The case is still under investigation.
