Family and friends gathered at the site of last week's deadly crash that took the life of 28-year-old Julie Hamilton.
Diana Hamilton, Julie’s mother, wants attended the vigil and says she wants justice for her daughter. “I don't know what I can say about people that do this. I think anybody that's going 80 to 100 miles an hour and kills somebody -- he needs to go up for life,” said Diana.
Julie Hamilton died last Tuesday in Central Fresno when she was hit by a driver going up to 100 miles an hour. Police also say he was also under the influence of a controlled substance.
Friends and family gathered at the site of the crash Tuesday night to remember Julie, who leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter. “She loved her daughter. She was the best mother. She would give her coat off her back to somebody that was cold,” said Diana.
The driver who caused the crash, 26-year-old Eugene Moore, suffered two broken legs and is recovering in the hospital. He is expected to be charged once he's released.
