A toddler and two women are recovering after a shooting south of Hanford.

The man suspected of firing the gunshots is under arrest.

It happened near Home and Second Place in the Home Garden area around 6:15 Monday evening.

The toddler and one of the women were shot in the face. The second woman was hit in the shoulder.

The victims were outside their home.

Witnesses heard two gunshots.

The two year old boy, sitting in his mother's lap, was wounded. So was his mother, and another woman who lives at the home.

Antonio Acevedo witnessed the shooting. "It was pretty scary. We were out here and heard the shots, heard some hit the trees. The little boy was lucky, he could have lost an eye. The woman too," Acevedo said.

Kings County Sheriff's deputies arrested 23-year-old David Michael Meyer who lives around the corner. Meyer is charged with negligent discharge of a firearm.

Neighbors say Meyers had shot at their home several years ago. But that time, no one was hurt.

The victims are all expected to recover. Their wounds were described as minor or superficial.
