Lori Garcia actually enjoys it.
“We like doing the last minute shopping thing and we do the day after Thanksgiving thing also,” said Garcia.
Eric Espinoza, who's just beginning, explains his reason for the late start.
“I really don't like spending quite a bit of money especially toward the end of the month because bills are due like for everybody else. Times are tough with how the economy is,” said Espinoza.
Espinoza promises to take care of his family, even if it means giving gifts on New Years.
“A little bit late, but it's the thought that counts,” said Espinoza.
Julia Carle chose to fly solo to get her shopping done quicker.
“You don't want to bring the kids shopping. They have to do their own,” said Carle.
Often the most frustrating part is getting to the store; trying to find parking. Fresno Police say you can make up some time if you're willing to walk a little.
“I think if you don't go for that first parking spot and actually look for one on the outside, that's where they're at,” said Al Hernandez of Fresno Police.
Even as much as Garcia likes battling for bargains, the fact that she's done and won't have to be out in the hectic Christmas Eve conditions makes her happy.
“It will be good to have everything under the tree where it should be,” said Garcia.
