Two brothers who are in jail for allegedly killing two teenagers made their first appearance in court Friday afternoon.

"There's no winners here, we've all lost something," said Nikkia Rojas, suspects' mother.

The night before Christmas Eve, Nikkia Rojas is at the county jail waiting to see her 19-year old son Jarrad Beard after police say he and his younger brother 16-year old Jerry Beard shot and killed two teenagers Tuesday night. Friday, was the brother's first court appearance and Rojas says, one of the victim's families started yelling which then triggered a courtroom outburst.

"I just don't think being derogatory, mean or negative is the way to handle it," said Rojas.

18-year-old Justin Hesketh and 16-year-old Brandon Moore were gunned down Tuesday night. Police say it all happened after the victims and the suspects got into a confrontation over "mean looks." Rojas says cooler heads need to prevail.

"Fighting, being mean and distasteful to one another is what got us all going through this right now," said Rojas.

Wednesday night CBS47 spoke with some of Hesketh's friends who said their lives have forever been changed.

"Our lives are never going to be the same without him," said Justin Hesketh's friend.

As for Rojas she says her life will never be the same either.

"We're not going to be celebrating Christmas this year. I'm a single mom of seven and those are my oldest boys and its hard... it's really hard," said Rojas.

The Beard brothers are back in court January 3rd. They didn't enter a plea Friday because of the disturbance in the courtroom.
