Fresno City College has released new surveillance video of three alleged burglars who stole $180,000 worth of audio equipment from a storage room inside the college's Old Administration Building.

The equipment, which was stolen early Monday morning, is used during events inside a newly-renovated auditorium nearby.

Surveillance video shows one of the alleged burglars letting his two accomplices in through the front door of the college's Old Administration Building" at 4:18am Monday. For five minutes, the three carry out brand new microphones, sound and lighting boards, monitors and devices for the hearing impaired out from a storage room about 50 feet away. All that was left behind was a damaged door, a lock, and a few flag and speaker stands inside.

"They were very specific. They came specifically to this room," said Kathy Bonilla, Fresno City College spokeswoman.

Administrators believe one of the alleged burglars got in by breaking through a construction area, which was sealed off.

The equipment, which is valued at around $180,000, is used for events inside an auditorium nearby that reopened about a year ago after a major renovation.

On Tuesday night, staff and students say they temporarily hauled in equipment from the school's music department for a pre-planned jazz concert.

"It's disappointing. You know, that place is my kids' place. You know, I work here, yes. But my kids love to sing in that place and perform in that place 'cause it's a beautiful venue," said Julie Dana, Director of Choral Music at Fresno City College.

The alleged burglars are seen wiping off their fingerprints before running out the door.

Administrators say they may try to rent equipment or borrow some from the district's other community colleges for events scheduled in the coming weeks.

Student Alex Garcia will play his guitar during a showcase next month.

"They were already threatening to cut classes and stuff and to have that happen. It's just a shock to see," said Garcia.

Administrators say they hope the school's insurance company will help pay for replacement equipment.

If you recognize the alleged burglars in the surveillance video, call the State Center Community College District's Police Department at (559) 442-8201.
