Congressman Jeff Denham was in Fresno on Tuesday to visit new homes for veterans.
He toured the Veteran's Plaza in downtown Fresno, where 14 apartments are being renovated for homeless vets.
Congressman Denham introduced a bill in Washington earlier this week that would help veterans land jobs after they leave the military. “It’s hard to find a job. It’s hard to get the training you need to get into a new career field if you don’t even have a home to come home to,” said Denham.
One veteran has already moved in and the rest of the apartments will be filled next month.
