Press Release: Monday at approximately 1 p.m., Detectives from the Southeast Policing District and officers from the Violent Crime Impact Team served two search warrants in connection with burglaries at Vang Pao, Dailey and Manchester Gate Elementary Schools.
The first search warrant served at 4518 E. Fountain Way resulted in the arrest of 46 year old Eric Johnson who was identified as having burglarizing three different schools beginning on March 27th.
Johnson was first discovered on video surveillance leaving Vang Pao Elementary School where he stole six laptop computers.
Johnson was later identified in two more schools burglaries where entered classrooms and stole personal items from teachers.
All of three of the thefts occurred just after the school day had ended and the campus was still open.
At Dailey and Manchester Gate Elementary Schools it was reported that prior to Johnson leaving he was confronted and had told school officials he was a substitute janitor.
None of the stolen property was recovered in the search warrants and anyone with information on these cases is asked to call Detective John Mendes at 621-6311, or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 621-STOP (7867) where you can receive up to a $1000 reward.
Johnson was booked into the Fresno County Jail for Burglary and for violating his probation.
