On March 27th at approximately 3:40 p.m., the unknown suspect entered Vang Pao Elementary School at 4100 E. Heaton where he began searching classrooms for laptop computers.
The suspect was recorded on video surveillance entering and leaving the campus with a black shoulder bag which he used to conceal the stolen property. The suspect then left the campus walking northbound on Tenth Street.
Detectives believe that the same suspect committed a similar theft at Dailey Elementary School at 3135 N. Harrison where he was confronted after taking a teacher’s wallet, purse and cell phone.
After being asked by school personnel why he was on campus, the suspect said that he was a substitute janitor and then left with the stolen property.
