2 CHP officers died in a crash on Highway 99 early Monday morning in Kingsburg. The officers have been identified as Juan Gonzalez and Brian Law. Officer Law leaves behind a wife and 3 young children. His partner, Gonzalez was planning to ask his girlfriend to marry him soon. CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow says they graduated from the academy together and quickly became best friends before partnering up in Fresno last year.
As for the crash that claimed their lives, investigators say the officers were responding to a collision on the highway around 6 in the morning. They swerved to avoid the wreckage, lost control of the patrol car, hit a guard rail and both died at the scene.
