Many residents are complaining about home break-ins, street lights out and gangs in Sanger. Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mimms along with city officials tried to answer the publics concerns Tuesday night.  It was Sanger's first town hall meeting this year and the response was positive. Eli Cruz has been a Sanger resident for 20 years. But recently he says his neighborhood has been hit hard with crime. He came to the town hall meeting to get answers on what's being done about it. "You keep hearing about the complaints but what's really being done about it until you bring in the city officials to find out what's really being done" Cruz said.  Interim police chief Thomas Whiteside discussed his plans to improve public safety and sheriff Mims discussed the challenges of keeping the county safe with reduced funding. "Our cuts have impacted the deputies that work in this area, surrounding it. However if Sanger PD calls and they need assistance, we go" said Mims.  Sanger Mayor Joshua Mitchell made it clear during these tough economic times, community members have to come together to start neighborhood watch, citizen patrol and get involved.  If you missed Tuesday's town hall meeting, the Mayor says there will be more coming up soon.
