Concerned valley citizens hosted a press conference Monday night in opposition to President Obama's recent decision requiring employers provide birth control to their employees or have their insurance company pay for it.
Some argue Obama's new birth control mandate violates the Constitution.
"The very most important right that we have as Americans is not only the freedom of speech and press, but the right to practice our religion according to the dictates of our conscience," said Pastor Jonathan Keller, who opposes the mandate.
While others point out, many women use contraception for health reasons.
"It helps reduce acne, help minimize menstrual cramps for women or even help a woman regulate her menstrual cycle. It also prevents types of chronic diseases such as ovarian cancer," said Pedro Elias, with Planned Parenthood.
However, the strong opposition is sending the mandate to the Senate floor for a repeal Thursday.
The repeal would go much further than just allowing employers to refuse birth control coverage, it would allow an employer to reject coverage of any health service they think is immoral.
