Many Californians are getting fed up with the state's Employment Development Department.
New statistics back up their complaints.
Records show only 10 to 17 percent of unemployed Californians are able to reach an actual employee when they call the department's office.
Some callers who were able to reach a live person had to call 40 times.
Employment Department Development official, Loree Levy said, "We're not happy about it, we're not happy about it at all. Frankly we need some additional funding. Now gratefully the governor acknowledges that."
Just months ago an upgraded computer system created a backlog which delayed checks for 150,000 people.
