26-year-old Cedric Blair was shot and killed while driving in east Fresno “My heat hurts,” said the victim’s father, who was in tears when talking about Blair who was shot and killed in east Fresno Sunday.
Family and friends say they can't imagine why anyone would target blair, who was a father of two young kids, one of them is just a few months old.
“People don’t know what they do you know? They don't know what they do,” said Blair’s father.
Residents of the apartment complex where the shooting happed say they heard several gunshots then a loud crash. After realizing what happened they called 911 and tried to help.
“And then he said dad that guys dead, I touched his heart and it’s not responding,” said Ruben Merancio, he and his son tried to help.
The passenger who was in the car with Blair, 27 year old Chris Manley was also shot but survived.
The two men had been at Rome Nightclub. Friends say there was a problem with another group there who they believed followed them home. Loved ones say that’s unusual because Blair rarely had problems with others. They’re asking for anyone with information to come forward.
“He supported his family and he was a decent individual, he was a decent human being, caring and loving,” said Blair’s grandmother.
“He was just an upbeat positive person, I just don’t understand this wasn’t supposed to happen,” said a friend of the victim.
