An investigation is underway after a Fresno County deputy shot a man accused of trying to force two women into a vehicle.
It happened around 11:00 a.m. Monday near Nebraska and DeWolf. Deputies say a woman called 911 and reported an armed man on her property. The sheriff's department says deputies saw a man with a shotgun who was apparently trying to force two females into a vehicle.
Deputies say they ordered the man put down the weapon but he aimed it at the officers.
"We are conditioned to respond accordingly anytime someone points a gun at you," said Chris Curtice from the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
The man was shot once in his torso and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
It's still unclear why the man was at the home or if he or the two women knew anyone living there
