Traffic is piling up at train stations airports and on roadways as millions of travelers flock to their Thanksgiving destinations.

Train congestion caused delays at the Fresno Amtrak station; this at 600 seats were added on the San Joaquin line for beefed up holiday travel. passengers say they've packed their patients.

Maresha Johnson says, "That's more people to get to know."

"I don't want to drive in the traffic especially going down to L.A. It's a headache", says Frank Lopez.

An estimated 4.4 million Californians are expected to hit the road this holiday. According to AAA, travel is actually down about 5 percent from last year.

Clovis AAA manager Jose Plascencia says, "We were surprised to see a decrease.  Auto travel generally increases every year."

Drivers like John Drucks are thankful for gas prices; the lowest they've been for the holiday since 2010.

Drucks says, "It's good news; saves me a few bucks."

Not such good news in other parts of the country where harsh winter weather is causing travel delays and headaches.  So far it's been smooth sailing at Fresno Yosemite International Airport.

One passenger hope the storms will pass by the time he reaches New York City.

Joe Joralemon says, "hopefully at JFK they'll let us land.  That's the only problem I could have."

AAA predicts Sunday will be the second busiest day of the year as everyone travels home from their holiday.
