7-year-old Emma Ritter has cystic fibrosis, which means life is far from easy.
Monday was Emma's birthday and she celebrated it at Children's Hospital Central California.
Emma's wish was to get 100 cards on her birthday, but to her surprise, Emma received hundreds from around the world.
Lisa Ritter, Emma's mom said, "This is showing her that there is faith and love and hope in the world, and you can't put a price tag on that."
Emma's mom says they show her daughter not even cystic fibrosis can hold her back. "The way that she goes into surgery is talking about happy moments and this will be happy moments over and over and over again," said Lisa.
Her hope is that beyond bringing joy to her daughter. All the support will translate into raising awareness for cystic fibrosis research, a disease she is determined to beat.
The hospital expects more cards to continue coming in for some time.
