Fresno firefighters braved the extreme heat to contain a house fire over the weekend.
The fire started on Indianapolis, near Fresno Street and Gettysburg Avenue on Sunday.
The temperatures are well over the 100 degree mark, making the task all the more difficult for the fire crews..
Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Chuck Tobias said, "We do recognize that it is extremely hot for them, and of course wearing these outfits, it's a whole lot worse than what the public is normally facing on days like this. So we want to get them out of this equipment as fast as we can, get some more fluids inside of them..."
A family dog died in the fire and the Red Cross is helping the one person who lives there.
