The two homes had multiple grow sites on their property and deputies said the dope could have been worth millions.  The bust happened on Montecito near Clovis Avenue in Fresno.
Hundreds of plants were pulled from homes in a Sunnyside neighborhood.
It's an unmistakeable stentch that neighbors said they've dealt with for years.

"The hotter is gets the more it smells and it's pretty nauseating," said a neighbor across the street from one of the busted homes.  She has lived in the area for more than a decade and said it's something that's gotten out of control.

"Because they had full grown plants last year, but not that many," said Patty.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department teamed up with the Drug Enforcement Agency to combat the grow sites.  They served the federal search warrants on the two homes located right across from each other Friday morning around 10.  Then, they even pulled a few more plants from a third home down the street.
DEA pulled around 1,000 plants from all three locations.

"Between these two homes, if this was sold on the East Coast about $7.5 million dollars," said Fresno County Sheriff, Margaret Mims.

These pictures show the two homes from below. Sheriff Mims said she's gotten complaints from the neighborhood and has been keeping an eye for the last couple of years.

"We get to them as soon as we can, there's just so many...but we're still not gonna give up," said Sheriff Mims.

Three people (two women and man) believed to be related and living at the homes are being held for questioning.
Sheriff Mims says illegal grow sites attract crime and are a danger to everyone in the community.

"In Tulare County, they had eight homicides last year as a result of marijuana grows," said Sheriff Mims.

She said grow sites like these can get two or three harvests in one year.
Neighbors are just happy to see something is finally being done.

"You have to worry about your own safety in a neighborhood where people are flagrantly violating the law and so I am very happy that it's taken care of," said Sheriff Mims.

All of the plants seized will be taken to an undisclosed location where they'll be buried and left to decompose.
