The Fresno County Sheriff's Department and DEA agents removed about 1,000 marijuana plants from two homes near Clovis and Kings Canyon Avenues.

The two agencies teamed up to serve federal search warrants at the homes located across the street from each other Friday morning.

No arrests have been made but three people are being questioned.

Fresno County Sheriff Margret Mims says the department has been getting calls about the illegal activity in the neighborhood and they have been keeping an eye on the property for the past couple of years.

Sheriff Mims says there were about 1,000 plants growing both inside and outside the two homes, which at maturity, would have a street value of about $7.5 million.

Two women and one man, who are all related, are being held for questioning.

The sheriff says one of the homes has a history of home invasions, which she says may be drug related.

Another marijuana bust was also made in Madera County, where nearly $15 million worth of the plants were discovered in an area where cattle are usually found grazing.

Officers chopped down the illegal crops in Bailey Flats, north of Raymond.

No word yet if anyone has been arrested there.
