The Powerhouse Fire north of Los Angeles has destroyed six homes and forced 3,000 evacuations.
The wildfire started Thursday afternoon and has grown to 40,000 acres.
Mandatory evacuations are in effect at Lake Hughes and voluntary evacuations for Elizabeth Lake.
So far, 15 homes have caught fire and six were destroyed.
As of Monday morning, the fire was only 40% contained.
Nearly 1,000 personnel are working the fire, along with helicopter and air tanker drops.
