It looks like organized chaos, cans and bags flying as volunteers sort through endless piles of food.
"Our first truck came in about five after five and it's just going to rock and roll the rest of the night," said Poverello House Spokesman Kathryn Weakland.
Postal workers spent the day loading their trucks with more food than letters. Picking up big bags and along with them a few challenges.
"We do the best we can to pick up the food and deliver the mail at the same time. The biggest challenge is trying to balance that inside the truck hoping there is room for the food but it's a good problem to have," said City Letter Carrier Steve Leavitt.
Organizers are optimistic when it's all said and done they will have close to 100,000 pounds of food which will then head to various non-profits helping out valley families in need.
"By Monday this food will be delivered to catholic charities, community food bank, out to some to some of the outlying little small non-profits," said Weakland.
And for all those that donated their food and time, a chance to lend a hand to their less fortunate neighbors.
"I’m out here for a good cause, I’m helping the homeless, I’m getting them food," said volunteer Curtis Mckeighan.
