The library system has a series of events to get everyone involved in the Big Read, including some outdoor activities.
This year's book was selected to honor Latino culture. It's the Rudolfo Anaya classic, "Bless Me, Ultima."
There was a kickoff celebration at Arte Americas Wednesday.

"We have a lot of hikes and garden tours planned because the book really centers around... one of the themes is the great outdoors and how landscape and sense of place forms your identity," said Linda Aragon with the Fresno County Library.
This is the seventh year for the Fresno County Big Read.
