Neighbors try to get their streets back after arson destroys three apartments.

The 3-alarm fire threatened up to 10 units but fire crews were able to contain it before it spread further.

Residents in the complex say it was started by a Molitov cocktail but investigators have not been able to find the device that likely started the fire.

It happened just after 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on San Ramon and Sixth Street, near Fresno State.

The area is known as "Sin City" but some residents don't want their neighborhood to be called that anymore.

Some residents were not that surprised to hear the cause of the fire could be arson. "It's common over here, people fighting. It's sin city, what do you expect?" said resident Jonathon Casteel.

Others are sick of living in fear and are trying to take back the neighborhood.

The El Dorado Community Park leaders are trying to clean things up.

Leader John Finch said, "We meet with the property owners and we talk to them and say, 'This is the problem we're seeing. What can you do to help us?'"

The group meets every Thursday on an action plan. When crime flares up, they say it motivates them even more.

Leader Rosalinda Gonzales said, "We're just trying to better our neighborhood and this is just scary that this happened so close to our home."

If you want to be part of the solution, you're invited to meet with the group at 6:00 p.m. Thursdays at Wesley United Methodist Church on Barstow Avenue.
