Mayhem rocked Fresno's downtown homeless community after police say two teenage boys used a paintball gun for human target practice.
CBS47 talked to one of the homeless victims following the attacks.
Manuel is watching the streets closely after a recent drive by shooting. He says the teens drove past him on Monday firing paintballs. "Apparently these guys were using the paintball guns but they were freezing them so I guess they hurt more or whatever."
Manuel says several people were hit, including his friend Lester. "I was facing them actually and if the guys weren't standing in front of me I would have gotten hit."
According to police, Lester was struck in the eye by a paintball. He was taken to the hospital and Manuel says he's now blind in that eye.
Police located the teens in their car near Broadway and San Benito Avenue. They later arrested 18-year-old Felix Florez from Bakersfield and a 17-year-old from Fresno. "They have nothing better to do or it's part of a ritual. They're like lets go out and beat some homeless up and rock em or whatever," said Manuel.
Homeless people in the area say these types of attacks have happened before.
Police suspect the teens may be involved with another shooting that happened over the weekend.
Both teens face several counts of conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon and mayhem.
Police tells us the Street Violence Bureau is involved with this investigation.
