They were searching for two men who ran off after a traffic stop in the area of Buckingham and Thorne.
A helicopter hovered overhead. And nearby schools were locked down as the neighborhood was searched.
One of the suspects dropped a gun as he ran.
A neighbor says she arrived home to find deputies trying to climb over her fence...
"They asked to have access to my back yard. Instead I led them through the house and they found a gun in my back yard,” said Robin Burrough.
"One suspect dropped a weapon. The weapon was recovered by a canine deputy and we secured the weapon," said Sgt. Michael George with the Fresno Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect with the weapon was later arrested. Deputies are still searching for the second man.
A young woman was also in the car when it was stopped but she didn't run.
