An Irrigation pump house in Fresno needs some serious repair work after a suspected drunk driver crashed his car into it late last night.
It happened at the "t" intersection of Dakota and Maroa.
Police say the man failed to turn and wound up going straight into a wall.
The driver tried to run away, but a witness slowed him down long enough for an officer to arrive and detain him.
Police believe he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.
"There were no brake marks, he made no attempt to negotiate the turn, so maybe his relaxed state at the time of the accident prevented some of his injuries," Sgt. David Rogers said.
The man went to the hospital with minor injuries and was later arrested.
