Freezing temperatures damaged citrus crops

We may be feeling the impact of that cold spell we had at the grocery store.

Around 1/5 of the mandarin crop has been lost because of the cold here in the Valley.

9% of the orange crop state-wide was also damaged.

Citrus growers throughout the state spent more than $23 million protecting their crops.

All that will likely drive up prices for things like oranges, orange juice and lemons over the next few weeks.

California's lettuce crops also have some damage and prices are already rising on the East Coast.
