A pair of Tulare County men are facing serious charges tonight.
They're accused of trying to kidnap a man while impersonating peace officers.
Christopher Morton and William Morton were arrested by actual law enforcement yesterday.
The two suspects allegedly tried to make a citizen's arrest while impersonating a peace officer, but they ended up getting arrested themselves.
The Tulare county Sheriff's Department came to a home in Porterville to serve an arrest warrant, but the man they were looking for wasn't there.
Officers say they made contact with a different person who was carrying drugs. He was arrested.
That's when Deputies say the two men tried to impersonate peace officers to make a citizen's arrest on the man the sheriff's Deputies were originally looking for.
Officers say one of the men brandished a firearm, then falsely identified himself as an officer.
Officers say The Mortons should have stayed out of the situation.
Their neighbors say they're not surprised by the arrests.
Witnesses say they thought a kidnapping was taking place.
