A string of robberies at fast food restaurants in Merced.
Three hold-ups in two days.
Thieves hit a McDonalds and two Jack in the Box restaurants on Monday and Tuesday.
CBS47 spoke with one woman who was right behind one of the robbers when he held up the Jack in the Box on Olive Tuesday night.
"All of a sudden the clerk behind there is white as a sheet and he's taking money out of the drawer and handing the guy money. And somebody said 'Why's he giving him the money?' And then we realized what was going on," said customer Janice Knight.
The thief turned and left.
The three restaurants that were robbed include: McDonalds at Olive and G, Jack in the Box on V Street, and Jack in the Box on Olive near M Street.
Merced Police say there are similarities between the robberies.
In the robberies along Olive Avenue the suspects are hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s. They were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, white t-shirts, and a black ball cap. And they had a small caliber, possibly semi-automatic handgun.
"It very well could be that these suspects are working in concert together," said Lt. Bimley West with Merced Police.
Merced Police are asking customers to be alert and if they see something suspicious, like someone 'scoping' or casing the restaurant, call police immediately.
And anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Merced police.
