In Sanger Thursday night, dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil honoring a woman who was murdered over the weekend.  On Sunday, 41-year old Sandra Beyer was found dead inside her home.  Police later arrested her husband on a charge of murder.  The cause of her death may be tied to sexual assault allegations.

As a bonfire burned to symbolize Sandra Beyer’s spirit, children stood by dazed and confused from this terrible tragedy.

“My sister was always there for everyone else.  She was a great person,” said Jose Garcia, Sandra’s brother.

Elaine Franco was a close friend for 26 years.

“She was like my mentor.  I actually looked up to her in everything,” said Elaine Franco.

Keith Beyer, the suspect in this case dropped a bombshell during his court hearing earlier in the day.  He ignored the advice of the judge and his attorney and confessed to murder.

“I took my wife’s life and I am accepting full responsibility for that, but nothing less than the death penalty,” said Keith Beyer, murder suspect.

There’s suspicion that the couple got into a violent dispute after Sandra learned Keith had sexually assaulted a child.

Reporter:  “Is that what you guys think tipped this thing in the wrong direction over the weekend?”

“If that’s what happened, if that’s true, then yes,” said Franco.

Now that Keith has publicly admitted guilt, Sandra’s friends and family want to see him quickly punished.

“My sister helped him and loved him when no one else would, so why did he take that from us?  Why did he take my sister,” questioned Garcia.

“I hope he gets it to the fullest extent because you don’t take a life like that away,” said Franco.
