Fresno County is morning the lose of a Fowler high Alumni.
21 year old Ruby grant was killed in a murder suicide this Sunday in Columbus, Georgia.
She moved there and joined the army after graduating high school.
Police say her husband shot her in the head and then himself.
Her coach of 4 years says he can't believe her path away from her hometown of Fowler would lead to this.
"What a tradjic loss. Because this was a very good young lady. Played hard, well respected by her team mates," said Gary Hains, the womans basketball coach
Giana Ramirez grew up playing basketball with ruby who she and others at Fowler High knew by her maden name Ruby Ruiz.
She was captain of the womans varsity basketball team before graduating in 2008.
"I'm sad because I grew up with all them, played basketball since I was 9 years old," said friend Giana Ramires.
Police say for unknown reasons Rubys husband 27 year old Freddie Grant turned the gun on Ruby then on himself.
Columbus police said Monday that both were in the military.
A statement from Fowlers Superintendant reads.
"Her hard work as a student and positive attitude as an athlete were shinning examples of outstanding character for all students."
Local police declined to release further details.
