225 men and women from NAS Lemoore were welcomed home Thursday after spending six months overseas in Japan.
While many families say it was hard to spend the holidays without their loved ones, they add it makes it even more exciting to see them now.
Nancy Sanders couldn't wait to see her husband. This was his first deployment form NAS Lemoore since they've been married. "The holidays were extremely hard, like that Christmas was a really long day," said Sanders.
Wives, mothers, fathers, siblings and children waited for the 225 soldiers of Strike Fighter Squadron 94 to return from Japan, where they've been for the past six months.
The Sanders, who've spent half of their married life apart, couldn't be happier. "It is crazy but its worth it. I knew what I was getting myself into from the beginning and I told him I would support him 100%, no matter how long he had to leave for," said Sanders.
Homecomings are expected to continue through the weekend as more sailors return to Lemoore.
