Ernie Chanmany stood in court for no more than 5 minutes before the judge declared him to be "a danger to society" and had his bail set to $700,000.
Aside from Chanmany being charged as an accessory to murder in the Sammy Mercado case, Chanmany also faces charges on mutiple outstanding warrants.
To give the public defender a chance to review the case, the judge has decided to postpone Chanmany's arraignment until November 1st.
The second suspect, 29 year old Michael Vora-Vong also appeared in court for his arrainment.
He's facing a murder charge.
As requested by public defenders. the judge agreed to move his arraignment to October 31st.
Vora-Vong faces a much higher bail compared to Chanmany at $1.5 million.
Both Chanmany and Vora-Vong are accused of killing 16 year old Sammy Mercado and dumping his body in an Orange Grove in Sanger.
Deputies are still looking for a third suspect, 28-year-old Marshall Vora-Vong.
