The child was on her way to school Tuesday morning when the kidnapper grabbed her and put her in his truck.
“She just looked confused and lost. And I told her you need to go check it out,” said Fortunato Martinez.

“She was just crying and we got four daughters of our own and it was just so heartbreaking,” said Fortunato.

The child told investigators she'd been kidnapped as she walked to school. A man in a pickup pulled up next to her and asked if she needed help. She said 'no'.
“He exited the truck grabbed her put her in the pickup and threw her bicycle into the bed of the pickup,” Mims said.
He drove her to this dirt field, 30 miles west of
“He bound her hands sexually assaulted her and he left her in the weeds just off the side of the road,” said Fresno Sheriff Margaret Mims.
The girl told investigators that she was assaulted for at least five hours.

“Her wrists were tied up and she took everything off with her teeth,” Fortuno Martinez said.
“He said he was going to wait there with her but when she turned around he wasn't there any more so that's when she started,” Crystal Martinez said.
She walked two and a half miles along highway 180. No one stopped. No one helped until the
“I'm still shaking from all this,” Fortuno said. “I'm just glad she got away and praying to God she's ok,”
