Deputy Scott Weishaar took CBS 47 along for a ride Saturday and detailed the dangers.

“Before people actually ride out here, they check to make sure they can either swim or have the ability to have a lifejacket,”
But Deputy Weishaar warns even the best swimmers to limit their time in the water.
“The cold just sucks your energy and it takes your strength and it really makes it hard to swim even if you are a good swimmer,” Weishaar said.
Local rivers could remain high through September.
