Shanin Path’s friends spent Friday along Highway 41 in Oakhurst. They are urging drivers to honk in Shanin's honor.

It's been nearly a week since Shanin was found unconscious on the side of the road.

“We're praying that she gets better and that she comes out of her coma,” said Shanin’s friend Rev. Dawn White.

Shanin’s friends joined hands to pray for her.

“She's unconditional and loved and caring. And she demonstrated that to many people and have touched their lives and heart and spirit and we just want to give back to her,” said White.

Shanin is hospitalized.

She's been at Community Regional Medical Center for the past week.

She was found on the side of the road Saturday night near Bass Lake at the intersection of Roads 222 and 274.

And last night Shanin's missing Jeep was found abandoned on private property along Road 222.

“It was just such a relief just this moment of relief that we may get some answers to how and why it happened,” said Jana Pavelich.

Pavelich has worked with Shanin at the Dirty Donkey Tavern in Oakhurst for the past several years.

“The sweetest thing person I know. I can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her in any way shape or form,” said Pavelich.

Shanin had played in a golf tournament Saturday to raise awareness of breast cancer. There are about two hours of her day before she was found that are unaccounted for.

Her friends are praying she will recover.

“We have no idea what happened and it's just been so disturbing,” said Pavelich.

Anyone with information on what happened to Shanin is asked to call the Madera County Sheriff's Department.

A bank account has been set up for donations for Shanin Path at the Wells Fargo Bank in Oakhurst.

A fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 26th at the Oak Room Bar at 40807 Highway 41 in Oakhurst. The yard sale fundraiser begins at 9am. Anyone who would like to drop off donations or items for the sale can contact the Oak Room at 683-6667.
