Local bowlers are disappointed that their favorite bowling alley will be closed and torn down after decades in business.
Cedar Lanes bowling alley is scheduled to close June 3rd after being around for 53 years.
Some passionate local residents are promising they won't let the bowling alley go without a fight.
Christine Golden has chosen to fight and is organizing the protest Tuesday night. "I just want these people to know what they've. There's hundreds of people that come here every single day of the week-seven days and they now have no place to go."
The closure is forcing out all the stores in the shopping center; all six businesses and the bowling alley will be closed.
Owners of Shotokan Karate and neighboring Jimmy's Sports World say the eviction letter came as a shock. Mike Guideo with Shotokan Karate said, "We received a letter today in the mail telling us we'll be evicted by June 25th." Jimmie Bosquez of Jimmy's Sports World said, "I know there's got to be improvements but kicking people out is not an improvement."
The property owners say they're not ready to talk about the closure but did issue a statement thanking the community for its commitment.
